IPTV management for my connections

by JayRoyal87

So I manage my iptv for some friends and family with about 9 connections. Instead of giving the m3u code I get direct from my provider I use m3u4u and make separate ones for specific groups. However this does not limit their connections.

So in theory here is my goal

Let's say I have 10 connections.

I have 2 My family has 6 And my friends have 2

Now to prevent my friends from giving the m3u to another friend therefore taking up someone else's connection, how can I limit the connections per m3u line

So I would have 3 separate m3u lines created from the same playlist from m3u4u one for friends family and for me. Now to put a limit on those m3u lines to the specified connections.

I was looking at iptv management software. Does anyone know any that would work with what I'm looking for?

I am well aware of the i shouldn't give it to people I don't trust or people that I think would give the code out. That's not my problem. I am also aware it's not even the smartest thing to manage for friends and family. Again that's not something I'm asking.

What you are looking for is what the resellers use, i doubt there is something capable of doing what you are wanting to do. You are basically playing the role of a reseller imo

I subscribe to iptveditor, I just tested and can create custom playlists for people and give a custom XC as well as set the max number of connections. I got the annual 5 playlists with 10 simultaneous EPG sources per playlist.

One can also use one playlist and set multiple "Customers" with a custom XC login. You can revoke it at any time.

I got this service mostly for foreign EPGs and to arrange my m3u for xTeve and Plex.

Install TVHeadend on something like a RPi or on a cloud server. Each user gets a username/password. You can limit concurrent connections per user.

Thank you for the advice. I chose to go the route of 2 accounts. 1 for family 1 for friends. One account has 5 connections, one account has 3. They have an extra connection that way, and I lose my extra one I didn't use anyway. So if they give their m3u out they will only be fuckijg themselves.

I wish epg.best or m3u4u incorporated the feature somehow.

Maybe in the future I'll do a free trial of a 10$ management software and see how it works

If you are using Tivimate with your 9 m3u4u lines you must protect yourself from unauthorized use. Your 2 are obviously secure, your 6 family accounts as well, probably, so the lines to focus on are the ones for the 2 friends. Basically, the only way to protect yourself from unauthorized use of your credentials (in this case from someone copying your m3u4u lines and using them on other devices) is to lock down Tivimate. Basically, you use parental controls on "Settings". That makes it necessary to enter a parental code in when you want to access "Settings" on the device. You can only see the m3u4u line in Settings, so you would no longer have to worry about someone taking your credentials. Obviously that would make it impossible for those individuals to access Settings, so make sure everything is set for them before locking it down, and be prepared to every now and then having to babysit those devices if they need to access Settings for some reason (which should be rare).
