Cannot grab M3U link from Spectrum TVE

by witherzombie222

Hi,
I've been trying to watch Bay News 9(a local channel in my area) and I cannot grab the M3U link from it. I've used several HLS grabbers, none working. I've tried Inspect Element, which only shows M4S files and occasionally a file with a jumble of letters and numbers seperated by dashes which, when I play in VLC, shows a login screen which I cannot login to, even when I use my Spectrum account.

The reason I am doing this is I am working on a personal M3U file full with the channels I use and I want Bay News 9 to be in there to make things more convienient and not have to switch to Spectrum's website every time.

Link to one of the M4S files:

The file with a jumble of letters and numbers seperated by dashes:

The link to watch it(requires paid Spectrum account):

It’s the mpd file you need. Spectrum is DRM protected, forget it there’s no HLS anymore it’s outdated tech by about 10 years now, no big provider uses it

That's mpeg-dash, used for better DRM-ing than hls...

If you are using m3u streams have you thought about using Stremium? It is available on all platforms - Roku, Android via Google Play, Amazon App Store, AppleTV, also Windows and Mac via web browser.

You can plug in your paid credentials for Spectrum into Stremium and all your Spectrum channels will be available in the guide, including Baynews 9. You can also add other services to it, such as Locast (it is available in the Tampa Bay area and costs $5 a month for uninterrupted viewing), Philo, Vidgo, Sling. Crucially, for you, though, you can also add channels one by one using just their m3u streams. So, in one app you can have Spectrum and Locast and all your already collected loose m3u channels.
