New to IPTV service. So I'm being informed that my Android box are different than an IPTV box. This is new informatiin to me. I wasn't aware that IPTV has a different hardware.
So I'm asking for guidance on buying a new IPTV box. I don't understand which is better (MAG, Formuler,etc.) Is Nvidia an IPTV or Android box?
Hoping for good GUI, high def and good Wi-Fi connectivity. Thanks!
Shield if money not an issue. But as simple as a Firestick 4k will work for iptv, can start there and try different devices. MAGs are only for iptv, firesticks you can still have youtube and other apps.
Got a shield pro for $200. It's fantastic. The AI upscaling does make a significant difference
Any Android device can be used to watch IPTV. It all depends on the application you have on it. On the other hand, a proper Android TV device (not regular Android modified for television use) will indeed give you better options for watching.
I have a shitty MyGiga android stick that runs modified phone software, and several options for OEM AndroidTV STBs and all of them run the software needed for IPTV. In fact the shitty 5+ year old MyGiga stick is capable of doing 4k and I've used it to watch 4k streams without issue.
Anybody telling you that you need a special box to watch their stuff is selling you garbage at inflated prices. That said, Nvidia Shield is an amazing box, but then again the newest Google AndroidTV Chromecast is pretty amazing as well. The stuff I currently use is because I can go to our warehouse and grab a box out of the thousands we have, but I'd probably buy a chromecast or a Shield if I didn't have that option.
I've got an IPTV from a good provider and Got a cheap android box from eBay, plays perfect no buffering, Also got it installed on an old Sony bravia TV android again no buffering.
I don't see why you would need an expensive hardware for iptv
I have spent a considerable amount of money on tv streamers, 4yrs ago I got a shield and never looked at streamers again
