IPTV STB as streaming media server?

Hello,

I'm not sure if this is possible but what i'm looking to do is get a set top box that can record certain shows at certain times, then later stream these shows from the STB to my phone or tablet over wifi. Is there any device that works like this? or maybe some server software that I would run on a PC?

You could run Tivimate hooked up to your IPTV service of choice, it can record programs using the EPG to an attached storage device or NAS, then run a Plex server from the same device to stream content over your network.

There is most likely a way if you just use your computer alone.  You'd need Universal Media Server, or PLEX to share it out.  As for the capturing at a specific time, I'm just not sure how you'd change the channel unless you use some sorta scripting language like AutoIT for your computer.
