Mi box s vs nvidia shield tv vs shield pro

by Bad-Banana-from-Mars

Which one is best if all I do is watch IPTV and use real debrid?

Where I live I can’t easily get hold of a fire stick or google cc with tv so these are my best options.

Mi box costs 70€ Shield tv costs 150€ Shield Pro costs 218€

Is +80€ really worth it for ai upscaling and better processor? Or would the mi box s just be fine for what I do? Or is the shield pro just that much better over the tv version that the 218€ is justified? I wouldn’t be using it for games or anything so just can’t see how much value the pro would bring me.

Everyone seems to say get a shield but don’t know if they mean the pro version or just the standard. Even then if the mi box would be a nice smooth experience with little to no lag do I even need a shield to begin with?

Nothing comes close to the shield TV Pro

shield pro And it's not close

Ive had the Pro Shield a few years now and it's excellent. Paid about £200 and use it for Plex and Tivimate. I have a firestick 4k in a 2nd room, but it doesn't come close.

TBH the Mi Stick is a perfectly acceptable streaming device and I believe it runs stock Android TV.

My preference is Shield, the Tubes work just fine as well, but it is far more expensive.

You sound like your mind is set on the mi box, I have the nvidia shield pro, haven't used the other two before I can guarantee you that the pro is worth the money, I had the firestick before and the pro is a lot better, you could also read reviews or watch comparisons on YouTube.

Buy the Sheild Pro you won’t regret spending the extra, I’ve had 2 4K Amazon Fire boxes and they are rubbish, the Sheild is the only one that has given me the full experience including Dolby Atmos soundtrack and proper 4K, ultra fast and everything just works unlike everyone else’s shit

Mi Box if you are on a budget and don't have a 4K TV. Shield TV if you aren't going to download anything. Shield Pro if you are going to download and have a 4K TV or you want to play games. I don't have the latest iteration of the Pro as the older one from a couple years ago does well enough for me and is still getting updates. When was the last update from Mi Box? I still have one hooked up to one of my TVs but seldom use it. I usually wait for a sale on the Pros and then tell my friends to go get one. Several did and love the thing...

It really depends on what sources you are using. IPTV will mainly be 720p or 1080p?

Real debrid for movies and tv? What sources are you using for this? 1080p? 4K?

Your TV - does it have 4K? Does it have Dolby vision?

If your answer is yes to 4K and Dolby vision then go for the shield.

I haven't used a shield, but I have used many other OEM Android TVs and I have a 5 year old android stick. The crappy android stick does 4k, and while it's a slower interface, it works. The OEM boxes work, the new Chromecast with remote is fast and works. and when you're watching a program you can't tell the difference.

depending on how badly programmed the app you're using is, you might not notice a difference. In my tests, I used perfect player on each of the STBs and the chromecast was faster than our OEM boxes. all were able to do 4k streaming, all looked similar. If I was buying another STB it would be a chromecast.

Once you get a Shield Pro, it's simply the best for what we do. I still have a Firestick for legals, but it's nowhere as good at supporting IPTV.

I have a older nvidia shield and a TiVo stream 4k. Both are running kodi, TiVimate, Netflex Amazon prime and other streaming services with no issues. I think the picture qualify might be a little better on the TiVo stream. I wasn't to happy with the fire stick. And, never tried the Mi box.The 4k Stream cost is $50 us. I hope this helps.

Apart from all the above, Shield Pro is all about the lossless codecs

4k firestick debloat it with debloat tool from uk dr trust me you wont regret saving the money unless you need all the bell's and whistles the shield offer's you. and youll get the same speed. but yea you are limited to # of app's to install on the 4k fs with its small hard drive but there are options for expanding

I use a Mibox S and stream Tivimate and 4K content over WiFi from a Plex with no issues. I wouldn't mind picking up a Shield to see how it performs, and I'd be able to replace my Fire Stick, which is noticeably slower.
