Recently my ISP has been restricting access to my m3u streams during the times that the football is on (what I mainly use the service for). I want to watch it on my smart tv but without being able to get a VPN on my tv this is becoming impossible. So I am looking at something like a firestick or chromecast or shield to stream the football with a VPN, any suggestions?
I love my Roku (with Emby), but its more difficult to load 3rd party apps (which I don't need). If your interested in 3rd party apps, firestick is a great option.
I would get a 4k verison, even if you don't have 4k. The CPU performance will be noticablely better when switching channels and apps.

I would start with a Mi-Box, or thr new Fire TV stick 4K MAX, a Google Chromecast with Google TV, or a Shield.
Still using my Mi-Box, my Fire TV stick 4K, was much used, till my Daughter "hijacked" it, the Google dongle is good. Shield is awesome, but is not a absolute necessity. Been happy with all.
Another option is to turn your pc into a VPN hotspot. You need a virtual access point program to use your VPN as a WiFi network. I use My Public WiFi on Windows:
easy option, get a firestick 4k. if you don't want another device you can install a vpn on your router. or buy a vpn router just for your iptv devices

Any android tv box with tvimate and a fast vpn will work fine
Honestly it really comes down to preference… I have a 4K firestick and a Nvidia shield pro and they both work great with my IPTV Service… So if you can really afford it then I would go with the shield, but it is a little overkill if you’re only using it for an IPTV service…
