Hi, I gather Nvidia is superior, but if all you’re doing is using IPTV, and maybe especially if you’re only using it connected to a iPhone hotspot, with 10mbs connection, will it still be superior under those circumstances, or will they both be equal/equally bad? Apple ATV generally streams well, will these be basically the same?

NVIDIA is the top dog out there. Fire stick is just cheap POS in my opinion. I am had both of these , the one I bought 5 more A MONTH AGO is NIVIDIA.

I have had both and there is no noticeable different for IPTV. All take it even further and say that my Fire Stick 4K actually does a better job of streaming 4K content. I have owned an Nvidia Shield for 3-years and Fire Sticks for just as long.
If your whole idea is streaming IPTV, for sure, Firestick especially a 4K version would be very nice, cheap, small and portable.
What worries me the most is the 10mbps BW mentioned above which is never a reliable minimum BW to have for streaming IPTV.
Was very happy with my Fire TV 4K stick, till my Daughter put it in her bag an have not seen it since. Children ... 😀
My Shield TV Pro is very nice indeed. But the Fire TV 4k stick worked equally well, even if it was some what slower between the key presses on the remote.
Need a travel streaming device, and I am waiting for the FireTV 4k MAX stick to become available locally to fill that need, tho a plain Fire TV 4k stick would be perfectly adequate.
Fire stick is mega slow.

I have both. for IPTV their is no difference
Firestick with the Wolf Launcher is just fine (the World Launcher is only because I hate the stock interface). Chromecast with Google TV is a solid choice too.
I setup a lot of Firesticks. They do the job. I personally prefer my shield however… the wired connection(yes I know you can buy an Ethernet adapter for the Firestick) and BW is great. Most of all though they just last… I have been using a 2017Shield since it launched and it is just as good as the day I bought it.
You don't need a Shield if all you do is IPTV. I have a Firestick and it's perfect for me and will be for your needs
