I don't do anything crazy with my firestick. Really just use Tivimate for my IPTV and Kodi for movies.
Is the Fire Cube a bit upgrade to the firestick? Or will it be hardly noticeable for me?

Nah, not worth the upgrade at all.
i would always pick Firestick.
The new Fire TV Stick 4K Max is the fastest Fire TV Stick available, but it's nowhere near as fast as the Fire TV Cube .
I've owned both Cube is better hands down. The Cube is snappy fast and for me the stick always running out of memory with tivimate. As a bonus the cube controls my TV and stereo with he included IR extender. I think they are getting ready for a version 3 as the cube has been on sale a lot lately.
ive owned all the fire tv boxes and sticks since they came out , bought a cube off a guy few months ago and had it sitting here as i was using my 4k stick and 2nd gen box as was happy with them , tried the cube its faster and better , sold my 2 gen box , use the cube all the time now.
The cube is amazing..much faster than the sticks and you get an ethernet port included without having to buy one..i upgraded from a 4K firestick and dont regret it one bit
I was cynical upgrading my 4K Firestick for the Cube, but it's more on a par with my Nvidia Shield than a Firestick with the speed of going through menus and apps.
The only real negatives are the Ethernet adapter is only 10/100 and doesn't have WiFi 6 capability, where as the 4K Max Firestick does.
I've sold my cube and now have the 4K max stick more than enough for me and very snappy as feels as quick as cube
