Apple TV not good for IPTV

by rvasquez151

Purchased Apple TV 4K yesterday. After trying so many IPTV apps I have come to the conclusion that Apple TV is not very intuitive with any IPTV apps. Nvidia Shield with Tivimate is difficult to beat. Therefore, I am boxing up this Apple gadget and promptly returning to Best Buy for a full refund. Thanks for allowing me to vent!

Apple TV is the epitome of "Closed Source". Even worse than a Roku in that regard.

I just can't go back to Firesticks as they are junk.. each and every one of them. So I recommend you use SNAPPY IPTV on Apple TV TVOS. Syncs lists over iCloud too and they have a iOS app as well.

Tried lots of app but the one for me is iprotv on all my Apple devices!

Well, Most iptv providers still offer a MAG subscription albeit not many people go for that option or even ask. I then use an emulator (for ios its iSTB) for android its stbEmu pro. This way i can use my 1 account on more than 1 device as the mag emulator allows you to emulator real hardware like a satellite box and you can set your MAC address which of course you can set more than once across different devices

Same here. I tried the same thing 2 weeks ago. Once you try Tivimate, nothing is close. I can see why people like the Apple TV, it's pretty and smooth but not worth the money for IPTV. Fire stick or Onn 4k box, both better with Tivimate

I switched to Apple from Nvidia and use iPlayTV. Works a treat ! Picture is far superior on AppleTV, just miss Syncler and that’s it really

Those of us who STARTED with an Apple TV before discovering iptv kind of have no choice. The iOS gui and zero advertisements are addictive (plus AppleTV screensaver is unbelievable) but the functionality with iptv and iOS is heartbreaking. iProTV is pretty close to Tivi (except epg) but not as stable. If you’ve never experienced and are not accustomed AppleTV then yeah, don’t bother. I have both Tivi and AppleTV and switch between the two depending on entertainment needs. It’s like buying a Aston Martin or a Kia. They both get you to your destination it’s just about how comfortable you want to be during the ride. Enjoy!

I use iplaytv app on Apple TV in livingroom and think it's a solid app.

I like Tivimate but as someone else posted I agree Firestick platform sucks. I run Tivimate on my office TV.

Apple TV box and navigating through app is so much smoother and more responsive than Firestick. Running anything through Apple TV is a fast smooth running experience than running Apple on firestick.

Too bad they don't make Tivimate for Apple TV imo.

Also, I run GSE iptv player on my ipads, iPhone and Note 20 Ultra.

iPlayTV, xciptv, iptvx, iSTB,

Are you guys using vpns? How are you getting around that?

What about GSE player? Its not the best player but just a suggestion for playability.
