Is this a real question.. why would you ever chose an Apple TV over a shield
Shield 100%. Apple devices are extremely limited in their capabilities and app suites. Shield offers expandability when/if you chose to get into movies, shows, gaming, etc.
The Apple TV is a great device. I have them and love them. But if IPTV is something you really value Shield is the right choice. And Tivimate is still the gold standard for IPTV apps.
Have both Shield and Apple TV 4K. Yes Shield is more flexible but I still prefer Apple TV. Their are reputable IPTV apps in the App Store. iSTB is great as it uses both MAC and m3u. iPlay, IPTVX, GSE IPTV PRO, IPTV Smarters all work well and are in the App Store too. Tivimate is great for android but it’s not the be-all end-all.
Shield 10/10 i would never go with apple if you are looking for iptv.
iptv on apple is very very limited
Nvidia Shield. IPTV and AI upscaling exceed Apple TV I have both - Shield and Apple TV 4K.
Apple tv user here. The app market for IPTV is limited on App Store. They are mostly paid apps anyway(and pricy). I bought one which is less shittier than others for one year before I get an Android tv and enjoy the freedom.
Shield with Tivimate will do just fine.
Shield 100%, have had apple tv, hated it. Bought a shield which gave me much more flexibility, now i can install any app i want and amount of content with shield is lightyears ahead of Apple TV. Try to connect your apple tv with your android phone, forget it thanks to apple limitations, same as wireless keyboard. For shield there a dozens of options to connect any kind of hardware, even game controllers.
Nvidia Shield would be the best device!! With its processor and it’s designed for streaming all types of services. I have 4 of them in my house 3 are plugged in by Ethernet and the other on WiFi. Hardly no buffering what so ever on all 4 devices. The best investment I ever bought. Got all of them via EBay.

Formuler Z8 which is even more flexible. Mytvonline2 has an awesome guide comparable to Tivimate and comes free with the box.
Shield. Far more flexible.
