Best App on AppleTV to watch from tvheadend server

by tzippy84

I have a tvheadend isntance running on a Raspberry Pi whoch receives from DVB-T2 and IPTV.

What is the best App for AppleTV that lets me use it like this:

When I open the App I want it to start streaming a predefined channel. So it's like turning on a TV.

There are numerous apps out there and I am willing to pay for them, but I'd rather get some tips from you first. Thanks!

PS: Tvhclient is good, but currently has issues when audio is streamed via AirPlay2

What /u/dmml00 has stated is very true and it will work fine however, you will lose the DVR capabilities of tvheadend, that means no pausing, FF, REW and no ability to schedule or view recordings. A client made specifically for TVH that has those features (if important to you) is best but this is where TVH falls flat on its face. There are very few clients and the best one is for kodi. I do wish there were more clients for it as it is the best TV backend out there but it's a bit too geeky for the general population and as such it suffers from low adaption and thus has never become mainstream to garner support for more client support. If you want DVR capabilities then your only real options are kodi or tvhclient that's about it.

You may want to give Iplay a try also.

TVH is serving m3u playlist like any other IPTV. Which means, you can use any app that supports m3u playlist format. For Apple, you can try GSE IPTV or Smarters.
