Internet speed, is 25MB quick enough?

by Alabaster13

Would AT&T unversed 25MB work out for iptv?

I currently have Spectrum 200MB here in the U.S., but they keep raising their prices

I have 25 internet and it works 100%. The problem is when you start using multiple devices. If you download something on your phone the tv will cut out.

Sounds like I should stick with what I have.

It’s surprising with all that modernization in technology and getting things build for cheap, they keep on raising prices. Why can’t this be counted as basic human need and stop pushing the prices that high for internet

10Mbps is good enough, as long as it is rock solid stable, good ping and very low jitter. Faster speeds help iron out, only some of the "speed bumps" on the internet.

harleyscal

That would not be enough at my house we need a hundred and it works perfectly

Yo I can’t really advise you on this but on a side note, I’ve just spotted the way you and some commenters have typed their internet speeds (MB), when I’m certain you actually mean Mb.

‘MB’ refers to Megabytes, often used for data storage and data transfer speeds (computer files, jpegs, mp3 etc)

‘Mb’ refers to Megabits which is primarily used by consumers and ISPs to measure/advertise internet download and upload speeds, often referred to as ‘Mbps’ (Megabits per second).

The important difference between the two is that 1MB=8Mb. Which is why ISPs sneakily advertise their speeds in Megabits to sell you the bigger numbers. I think the confusion often arises because the two sound very similar and are denoted by similar characters, and in daily conversation (for example with a colleague) people will usually compare their internet speeds by saying “megabytes” when they actually mean “megabits” simply because it’s the more popular phrase.

I’ve known friends who claim to have ‘50MBps’ download speed asking me why their 1GB(1000MB) download takes much longer than the 20 seconds it should work out to be, and that’s largely because their internet speed is actually 50Mbps, which works out at a mere 6.25MBps, meaning it takes 8x longer than they’d calculated.

I hope at least one or two people have learned something new lol.

Check if your area has ATT fiber, I almost yelled at my wife when she said she got us ATT but then she said fiber and that is the key difference. You can get like 500mb speed up and down for 60$ a month

sirtommybahama1

That's fine for iptv

Mccobsta

Yeah that will be fine I've streamed iptv over 3g and it works fine

UncharacteristicZero

Been rocking 30 for years....

Works for me!
