Smarters IPTV buffering

by user_one11

Alright bear with me on this as it confuses me… I’ve purchased the Firestick 4K Max, installed the Smarters IPTV app and everything works. BUT the buffering has been killing my experience. I’ve done the speed test through their app and it says my down is 26.3Mbps and up is 13.2Mbps. However, doing a speed test through my phone while connected to the same 5g wifi, I’m at close to 400Mbps. My hunch is that the issue is within the app itself and has nothing to do with my IP since any apps that are installed on the Samsung TV and not through Firestick, work perfectly with no buffering ever. I’m not quite sure which other players I can use using the XC api codes. I tried to use the SmartOne IPTV player but I need a separate subscription for that. Any ways to fix the buffering (other than adjusting the size) on Smarters IPTV or suggestions for a player? TIA

Plus 1 for Tivimate, was a game changer for my IPTV services. Able to easily adjust buffer size. Also extremely slick menu, dvr capabilities etc.. Worth $30 for life.

It is either the isp throttling or your service provider; your best bet is to test it from a different internet connection. In my experience it is 98% the provider of the service. You can also test it using a trial version of tivimate.

The max firestick has Wi-Fi6 I think. I’m willing to guess router don’t support. So your either using the 5.0 ghz or 2.4ghz. The buffering either is on the service your using or the hardware in your home. Willing to bet hardware. What kind of router do you have?

**Disclosure: I am still testing this app but so far I'm impressed

iMplayer so far has been great for me in addition to Smarters Pro.

The reason I like iMplayer is because it supports more than one provider without having to sign in and out (just select the playlist you want),

  • it also allows users to remove prefixes/suffixes (ex. US: , USA: , US | , etc {yes there is a space after the special character}).

  • I also like the feel and layout though there is a bit of a learning curve (ex. How to access the groups).

  • But the thing I like the most is that it can use VLC as an internal player and not an external player.

The advantage of that is that when you hit the back button to bring up the guide you can watch the TV channel up in the corner while you're scanning the guide, using VLC and not the EXO player that the app is built with.

Of course you can change the player to also instead use vlcs external or any other video player that you have externally but that isn't compatible with the guide while still wanting to watch the channel at the same time.

I have noticed buffering with smarter's IPTV pro app that I have and just assume that it was my provider but in one of the comments somebody had mentioned of using a VPN and the buffering would go away so I will try that now and see how that works out.

I have fiber connection with 1.5 gig down and one gig up so I didn't think that throttling would be an issue considering my internet provider supplies their TV through IPTV of their own. I'm with Bell in Toronto. But maybe they whitelist their own IPS and throttle any other IP. So I'll test out the theory with VPN and see how that affects buffering.

Use ethernet. WiFi and iptv is unreliable as fuck.

Sharp_Spinach5616

Use tivimate much better then smarters. You won’t regret it.

OzyDave

Try deleting or clearing the cache in the app.

Wesk08

Use tivimate and you’ll never use another player again

Tivimate won't solve underpowered Internet speeds or processing.

You are on 2.4 ghz. Buy new router with dual band or 5 ghz. Problem solved

Richg542

Get the Tivimate player you won’t regret it..

This is probably the most common issue in IPTV. The issue isn't your hardware or IPTV player. It is an ISP throttling issue. Use a reliable VPN like ExpressVPN, and watch your buffering go away.

Sorry to say this but I only solved my buffering by buying the cube. It seems to be so much more powerful. Make sure that there is nothing, except your iptv, running in background. There is an app for checking called background. Funny that. Did you say you were using the 5ghz channel or 5g. Again make sure nothing else on it. 2.4ghz is generally OK for other Internet stuff. The last 2 comments assume you have a dual band router. Good luck.

might be ur router cpu is slow because thats what happened with mine

I've never had a good speed test using the Smarters built-in speed test. I always use an independent app for that. In firestick settings, go into apps and force close, clear cache of Smarters and try again. If you have a VPN, try a different location. If you don't have one. Get a free trial of one and try it out as your ISP could be throttling you. And like the others said, Tivimate is the best player for iptv, which you can also try before you buy 😁

Silent_Awareness124

did you try to use the lite version of smarter pro ? it seems to be working fine. you can fine it in the app store

tomyiop

Tvmate doesn't manage stbemu codes

Firestick is just not powerful enough. I moved to firetv box. Now no buffering issues. There are other makes of boxes.
