recording to pc/nas

by fiftythreefly

i have spent hours trying to get plex/xteve working and though i feel pretty familiar with those apps, IPTV just doesn't work on my pc, therefore i can't get it working through plex (easiest solution, but unable to work)

the only way i've been able to get iptv working on my pc is through an android app. i'm wondering if i can record from there onto my D: drive which is my home server my plex links to. then i could still watch recorded shows through plex.

if this is possible, which apps would be recommended for this? i've seen some suggestions in other threads but i feel my issue is slightly different since the iptv doesn't work natively on my pc

You can try nextpvr as a backend and kodi as a front-end. Can setup recordings that way and should work on your computer.

i was able to use Tivimate to record shows to my NAS. i recorded a few shows which went well but also tried to record a baseball game but it only recorded about 1 hour of the 3 hour scheduled recording.

anyone in the future looking at this, i'm very new to Tivimate but paid the $25 for lifetime sub and went into my recording directory and pointed it towards my NAS. took me about an hour to figure it all out after watching some youtube videos explaining how to make it work. i was able to do this through my pc android emulator as well as through my Onn android device.
