Anonymizing with Docker or easier way?

by 1xy_3c4

Hi all,

I've got several hardware options available and one goal: Anonymizing my traffic to the IPTV provider with a VPN in a user-friendly and bulletproof way (family should also use it with no effort).

I've got a NordVPN Account an active IPTV account and...

  1. Fire TV Sticks

  2. Enigma 2 Box (Gigablue Quad 4k UHD)

  3. Homeserver/Unraid (to host dockers like TVHeadend)

  4. Smart TV with Android (Sony Bravia)

My current idea is to set up TV Headend in a docker and run that through a VPN to connect to the provider. Than connect to TVH internally from my Fire TV or TV itself with Plex or anything comparable.

I do not want to use one account with several users or anything like that, just a convenient, stable tunnel.

What would you suggest doing? Would it be easier to just setup the enigma2 and have it always connected through VPN?

Thanks a lot!

I have used a router with open vpn built in. That wasn't too bad. Hopefully somebody smarter than me will answer too. Docker on your server has lots of possibilities, but requires upkeep. I fire up my vpns individually on each device these days.

Plex can sometimes be buggy and I think has a 480 channel limit I run tivimate it can launch on boot. m3u4u can help edit channels if needed.

Why would you want to use a vpn? Maybe for some streams so you could use zattoo for example but otherwise complete waste of time.
