Best box for iptv?

by Pretty_Increase967

Hey everyone! I’m new to iptv & I want to know your opinion on what the absolute best box for iptv is out there. I don’t care for games or apps, I have a PC & xbox for that, I just want the absolute best box for streaming iptv with the best possible quality/reliability & with capability of recording & ideally atmos compatible.

Top device is the Nvidia shield, best app is tivimate. If your budget doesn’t allow for a shield, most are happy with the 4K Firestick

anything is better than a smart tv because of processing power

Nvidia shield > all

Yes Nvidia shield is the way to go

  1. Nvidia Shield
  2. Onn 4k
Mrbacon404

Yea Nvidia shield if it’s in your budget and the TiVo 4K Streaming device is my 2nd choice

mariospeedragon

Shield with tivimate. I’ve owned everything from Formuler to firestick 4K to mi box to ONN streaming box. Shield is best hands down….but I do like the Formuler box as well

I have a Xiaomi 4k Android 11 stick... Works great. I run TiviMate and IPTV Smarters. Also other apps like Netflix Prime Video, Emby, Plex. Also seems that there is a new Chromecast dongle that is also 4k Android 11. I recommend the Xiaomi. I am currently away and brought it with me and had no problems making it work with the WiFi at the places I stayed. It is not expensive at Aliexpress. Watch reviews on YT.

Edit: I recommend the Xiaomi as I have it and works. I have a Firestick as well and it works too. I ditched my Rokus as they no longer work well. I have not tested other options.

Can't fault my Formuler Z8 for streaming alone. There are newer models. Importantly, Formuler devices have their own IPTV software (My TV Online 2) which works flawlessly.

Firestick 4k is very good on a budget. I use Smarters Pro it's very straight forward.

Nvidia Shield..nothing compares

I use a Firestick 4k Max and TiviMate and love it. Recording to a Nvidia shield might be better than Max, I would guess, due to 4k max issues with external storage. TiviMate only sees internal storage for some reason. I think it's a Android issue.

TiviMate does offer SMB for recordings so that might be a better way. Set up a Network storage Device and use SMB to record to it.

The service you use will have alot to do with 'tivo' type action. Mine doesn't offer it on every channel, just a few, due to massive amount of server space I would imagine.

my advice to you if you only need watching iptv , you dont need nvidia shield , get fire stick 4k with tivimate , trust me

I see used Nvidia shields all the time for 60 to 100 bucks in my area.

Goal-Otherwise

Buy onn Android box walmart

Nvidia Shield Pro with TiviMate if you don’t mind the price. By far the best device out there. Yea iptv will work on other devices also. But you asks what’s the absolute best and that’s the Shield Pro. Hope it helps.

Slightly off topic. But, does anyone know about 5.1 audio compatibility with these devices? (I understand that provider should support). Does tivimate support 5.1?

Objective-Hair-3693

Depends what your budget is. You literally can’t beat a Firestick for the price but like anything if u want something with a few more bells and whistles then u can spend a few more bucks and get an a Nvidia Shield. Those are definitely those 2 most popular for there price points

Fire stuck 4k max for me been solid

My A95X Max Android box seems to consistently fly under the radar and gets little - if any - love on forums like these, but it does everything the Nvidia Shield can do at a fraction of the price. Think Hyundai Genesis vs. S-Class Mercedes... you're essentially paying for the name and "pedigree" of the latter with little discernable difference in quality, performance, or features between the two.

My unit has a Quad-core Amlogic processor, runs on Android 9.0, has 4GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory, and the best part is...it can accommodate either an internal 2 GB SSD drive or an external 2 GB HDD drive, allowing me to record (and save) programs from TiViMate to my heart's content.

True, it's a Chinese box that cost me only slightly more than $100 CDN and I can't speak to it's long-term viability, but for the past 2 years it has been performing flawlessly for me.

I have a formular z10 pro Max. They have a app for iptv om this box. I use Tivimate in the formular. Friends of my are using the Nokia 8000. Way Cheaper and it works just as good.

5.1 does not work well on booth of the devices. Maybe its the device or the iptv provider. Maybe both.

The Nvidia Shield is the best if you can afford it. If you're on a budget then I'd say go with the Onn 4K box. It's only $20 and performs surprisingly well.

Best budget option | £30 | Roku Express

The best TV streamer money can buy | £149 | NVIDIA Shield TV

The best HD streamer | £40 | Amazon Fire TV Stick with Alexa

Most underrated streamer in the UK | £50 | Roku Streaming Stick+

Zealousideal-Fly9262

If picture quality is paramount for you then definitely go with Shield Pro, it’s the only box I know that has AI upscaling, & it works very well. Otherwise the other suggestions also work well, Firestick, Onn, etc.

Famous_Eggplant1649

The Onn TV box from Walmart is a beast for IPTV and it's only $20.

4juice

Everyone raving about Nvidia Shield but show some love for Mini X too, they are powerful as well.

No_Selection3035

Nvidia Shield is recommended if conditions permit. Of course, you can also use it on Amazon Firestick. I've been using it for 6 years on an Amazon Firestick subscription. Better than anything! It's up to you to choose.

NoahManiacal

If you’re using it just for IPTV then any cheap Android box or firestick will do. Look on Amazon, you’ll find 4K Android boxes and firesticks for well under 100$ US
