Which Android box to choose?

by fridens

Looking to get IP-TV for the first time, i think android box looks the easiest w/ tivimate.

So i’ve looked at: *Xiamoi Mi Box S 4K *Chromecast with Google TV

Some People say that the Chromecast is better, but it doesnt have an USB port, and running IP-TV trough wifi worries me. With the Mi Box, i could buy a USB to internet adapter. I have 100/100 internet.

What would you do?

ShieldTV is the best option honestly

I really wish these posts would just be removed. How many times is someone going to ask which box is the best. Just pin something on the sub so people stop asking this 40 times a day

I went for a 4k Firestick with Tivimate and honestly I think it's brilliant, runs perfectly. I've not tried anything else tbh, pretty new to IPTV myself but would highly recommend the firestick.

I've used a bunch of different IPTV boxes/machines and my personal preference is Formuler (currently running a z8 and a z8+).

Their app (MyTVOnline2) is very slick and I rarly have any problmes viewing/navigating around. The box itself has decent specs, a good remote, with wired/WIFI and also runs Kodi (even 4K/HEVC) and VLC well.

They are definitely more expensive than other boxes, but I still prefer them.

Do not buy xiaoimi stick. I have one and i regret it. It looses cnx to the internet, restart by itself and slow. Avoid it. All i do now is watch iptv on my phone or laptop….

Either shield or 4k firestick

Formulerz10 another good choice also Nvidea Shield. With the z10 there is no need to add Tivimate as it has its own player which is a very good player. The z10 also does stb/mac type services.

To Be honest with you, It all comes down to how much you really want to spend.. I’ve had the MeCool km2 for a few years now, and it runs great with Tivimate.. I just picked up the New MeCool KM2 Plus which has pretty much the same specs except for more on board Storage and it runs Android 11..

I like the mecool km2

Expensive top of the line box - Nvidia Shield

Cheap box that has everything you probably need - Onn Android TV box at Walmart for $20

Firestick is liked by many, but I hated the interface and (at least at the time I used the first ones) many apps were not in the app store and required workarounds to install.

Tbh both work pretty great but if you’re lucky to picked up a fire stick In prime day it will be great too.

i have the ccwgtv and it sucks. low ram makes u need to constantly close apps or it runs sluggish as hell

Business_Love9783

The new fire sticks work well

I bought 2 google tv chrome cast, their not the worst but they’re definitely great for $40-50 range

Easy go would be nvidia shield but if you want to run NAS and tivimate go for the zidoo z10 pro.

Traditional_Leader41

If you're only running an IPTV app and subscription then a £40 firestick through WiFi will do it perfectly fine.

It's when you start thinking of stuff like Kodi, games and whatnot that you need to think of more power, internet speed and storage. And in that case, Nvidia Shield. Hands down.

I use Formuler GTV with mytvonline2, works great!
