Have TV with Android TV. Should I get Nvidia Shield?

Currently have Sony Bravia with Android TV; would there be any benefits to get Nvidia Shield for iptv?

Sony Bravia is a true android system. As long as you don’t run tons of apps on your tv, you should be fine.

The OS built into the TV will eventually slow down to where it's very frustrating to use. That's what happened to my Bravia and even a factory reset didn't help. Definitely look into buying an Nvidia Shield. You won't regret it.

Don't waste your money purchasing shields. By no means are shields bad. They are one of the best,  if not the best, Android box made. Your Bravia has plenty of ram for IPTV and then some. I suggest not taxing the gpu with tons of apps and using up all your storage... but yeah it's great for iptv and a few streaming apps.

I have the Nvidia Shield and I use it every day. I love it. It is blazing fast and zero issues in 4+ years, I had the original and the bought the latest generation. I also take it with me when I travel.  So should you have any further issues I would highly recommend the Nvidia Shield.

Not strictly for iptv..  But i you have anything else youd want to do..   I.e. gaming..    Then i would suggest a shield..

you can probably just run tivimate or implayer directly on the sony with no problems.  just don't overload the tv with garbage apps

My sony a80j is very lugghish probably because I have packed it with lots of streaming apps. But as a matter of facts the tv is much slower than the Nvidia tube I got.

I have a hisense U8G with android TV and tivimate runs  flawlessly on it...has never slowed down or anything since I got it a year ago...have never felt the need for an additional streaming device....

I've got a 2017 Sony Android. Works well enough but is about half the speed in terms of browsing menus compared to my 2019 Shield tube. And the remote is just crappy to use compared to the Shield. The AI upscaling on the Nvidia really makes a difference also. It's worth it in my opinion but quite a price to pay for the privilege.

Nvidia Shield up converts the picture.  The Formuler boxes have the best app for iptv called MOL2.  If you are only watching Iptv just use the Bravia.
