Service for Non-tech savvy parents

I'm an IPTV user, previously flawless and now helix. I've convinced my parents to cut the cord, they would be happy with FTA (UK and ireland) channels but would have to install a dish in their area, which they don't want to.

I'm suggesting IPTV however I need to get a service that is simple, reliable, low maintenance and similar in operation to a terrestrial UK/IRL cable provider.

I thought UK Helix was the one, small channel list with sufficient backup etc. However what was originally 300 or so channels is now bloated with 1100+ channels. Most of which are replicas (there be over ten versions of sly sports premier league and all of them crashed Sunday last and the weekend before).

Can anyone recommend from personal experience a service which is closest in feel to a sly/vm STB. I don't really want resellers approaching, hence i didn't post an ad on r/IPTVResellers would prefer individual experience!

Edit 1

So thanks a lot for all the helpful comments - really good and good to hear about wooshbuild which i'll try! However i was really hoping for IPTV service recommendations rather than hardware/software which i'm already very comfortable with.

Can anyone recommend an IPTV service with a well maintained, small and simple UK/Irl channel list which could be thrown into any hardware config without requiring much maintaining? If possible, with 2 or more screens so that i could just share my setup.

Edit 2

tldr want stable IPTV provider that best replicates the UK/Irl EPG off the shelf. Not worried about hardware/software recommendations.

Looking into building a multi-service IPTV Web App

Hey guys,

I've been a web app dev for most of my life and after being inspired by Vader's web portal for viewing their content, I was wanting to create a universal player for any provider.

Inspecting a m3u file, I see most of them reference a .ts stream for each of the channels, although, I haven't had much luck with some of the various html5 ts streamers on github.

Anybody want to join me in this endeavor?

MAC Addresses and STB Emulators

I am running 2 android boxes at the same time with the same stb emulator (DigitalSTB). I've noticed that most all of the emulators are about the same. I notice that the MAC Addresses are the same. I haven't activated the second box in fear that my account will get banned because both boxes showing the same MAC Address.

Can I use the same MAC Address on both boxes with both boxes operating at the same time?

Thank you for the opportunity to post.

I look forward to all responses.

Is there a .m3u playlist and EPG .xml data channel mapper for free?

I know r/https://www.iptv-epg.com offers EPG data for a subscription but lets say you know some good sources for EPG but the data does not match your playlist.

Are there free tools or apps out there that will allow you to map your channels on the playlist to the correct channel on the EPG data.

Hopefully something with a GUI. I believe there is also WebGrab+Plus but it runs on scripts and would probably take so much time to match your channels to the EPG Data that way.

VOD and customiaing channel groups

Hey folks, I have been using Vader for quite some time and am currently stuck trying to do two things via smart iptv app on my LG TV. I want to get vod to show up along with the basic channels and I can't figure it out. I've visited various sites all with different links but none work or show up. Is this because the app only allows one list (regular channels OR vod) or am I not setting it up correctly?

The second thing I want to do is get rid of channel groups I don't watch such as German, Italian, Arab, etc. How can I do this and then have it saved to my m3u and the app?

Thanks in advance folks!

Looking for a provider with GameTV

This is crazy. Fab got me hooked on GameTV, this is the Canadian version of the Game Show Network. Several providers have CA: GSN HD listed but it is not the same. GameTV is a few hours of Shark Tank and Dragons Den in the afternoon and then a couple movies. And lumberjack championships. It's all I really want.

Thanks

Hey! Looking for a good IPTV app for Android TV

Hey! I've tried Kodi, Perfect player and a few others that I could just find at first glance.

Some of them work exactly as I want with fast channel switching where you can spam up or down to go between channels fast instead of waiting for every single one to load. But the ones that work well with that lack other features like a good "Guide" or upcoming shows...

What would you recommend if you have any hidden gems or if there is a way to install something else on Kodi instead of the standard IPTV simple client thing.

I just want the app to be like an actual TV where I can just switch channels fast and view the Guide easily.

Looking for recommendations of best providers in the UK.

Don't care too much about foreign channels, would like reliable (as possible) sports, UK regular channels, BBC, ITV, etc, and sometimes Challange. :P

Also wondering what sort of specs suppliers machines are; suppliers, if you don't have this info then don't bother with the whole "hey try me go to blah blah blah" multiple reposts with no detail things 😂

If multi-room is available, well even better!

Looking to use a Mag 254 box if that helps.

Need an IPTV Provider with paypal payment and these features

I am from Colombia but living in Belgium with a Mexican Girl, we need an IPTV with channels from Colombia, Mexico, France, Belgium and the normal movies channels from the US. I had geniptv.com but they removed paypal payments, so I need to find a replacement.

Number of channels is not important, who cares 4000 vs 12000 channels, you will never watch them all, important here is the countries mentioned above, and paypal support.

stbemu buffering starting at 9pm everyday

i have tried 3 different services and always get the same buffering. So, i don't think it is the service. When i am using my phone, on wifi, it starts at 9ish pm. If i switch to data and turn off wifi, it works fine. I spoke with the isp and they swear that they are not blocking. My speed is always good and the speed of my isp is far faster than my phone provider. My android box does the same thing at 9pm and it is hard wired. Can an isp block iptv traffic and allow other traffic to stay at full speed? I know in China, they block google but here I think they are blocking iptv only traffic. When i use a browser from my wifi laptop (using vaders) i get no buffering. Trying to prove to isp that they are blocking
