Free IPTV (20 Channels w/ EPG)

I am a reseller, but have setup 20 free channels to get anyone / everyone started. These are very popular channels, however, the streams and EPG are using publicly available links / sources. Quality not guaranteed.

In return, if / when you decide you want more (or better) channels / streams, please keep me in mind.

how to parse and simplify a provider's m3u list

Hi. I'm looking for a way to simplify/clean the m3u from my provider. I dont need all these channels and would like to clean the original m3u before it reaches my android box.

Also looking into setting up tvheadend or pvrnext on my unraid server so I can handle recordings. But the 42K or so channels I get in my m3u is making the parsing process crash for NextPVR.

Found a docker that seems to do what i'm looking for here https://hub.docker.com/r/mrrobotstuff/m3ufilter but I'm not sure how to make this work. Any help or recommendations?

IPTV Suggestions but...

Hi everyone out there in interweb world. I was a gigantic fan of Vader's, the was you could scroll back on the EPG to play a catch-up program. The way all the games were in a category and you can select the different channels that the game is on. Absolute bliss.

Then bang. Nothing !!

So i tried a trial of Breast TV, Nitro TV and ended up going with Buck TV. I do NOT like the layout of these form of applications. They are all blatantly running off the same platform with minor changes to a customizable app. I chose Buck TV for the five connections. (Also a big tick in my book) I these are known are Xtreme Codes from what ive read up on.

I now have got a trial of Dark Media which seems to have a nice layout and most importantly the EPG looks better that the others. But no catch-up.

I then paid the $20 for Gears Reloaded which has a good EPG where you can scroll back in time (brilliant) but the categories seem a bit odd. I select UK and i get four sports channels and that it !!! where are the rest of the UK channels.

I am now sick of wasting money by reading posts from people who are re sellers advertising their service. Now i get people are trying to make money but i'm after a service that ticks all my boxes:

  • Nothing that is on the Nitro, Beast, Buck TV platform - Must not be
  • Looks like cable tv layout - Must
  • Picture Quality - Not massively important 720/1080 +
  • Multiple connections - Would be nice
  • Catch up - Must
  • Nice looking EPG - Preferably with back-in-time catch-up
  • Multi-view - Would be nice
  • Live sports section - Must
  • Pause live tv - Must
  • Cost - not really fussed about as long as the quality in the APP and streams work
  • Downtime - Minimal
  • Mutiple Apps/Services - No
  • UK and US TV - Must
  • Sport - UK Soccer (iFollow) & NFL
  • Firestick app enabled - Must

It seems like there are loads of IPTV things out there all having their own piece of what Vader's had as a whole. Someone suggested to me "FB Media IPTV" but I cannot find that.

Please list your suggestions below with URLs

Thanks in advanced.

Rapture IPTV

Another scam provider. I signed up a week ago and no service, no response, nothing. Fortunately, I am out all of only $6. I've used a few providers. Some services were better than others but this is the first that is an outright scam.

Iconic Streams: Not So Good

I signed up for a trial with Iconic Streams, looking to replace Helix, which has become next to useless since they migrated to their new system.

Sadly, Iconic seems even worse for my purposes. Catch-up service is important to me, and I couldn’t get a single program to play from Iconic’s catch-up service. I tried dozens of programs from at least a dozen channels across various categories. I’ve opened a support ticket but I’m not impressed so far.

I gave Iconic a try mostly because IPTV Insider mentioned them as one of only a few providers worth trying in this post-XC world.

I’m pretty sure I will just let my subs expire now, give up on this kind of IPTV for a while, and check again in 3 months to see if anybody has figured out how to provide a service at least as reliable as Helix used to be (which wasn’t perfect, but which was pretty good considering the price).

I expect I will get a flurry of “DM me; we’ve got a perfect service!!!” messages. Been there. Done that. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.

But if there’s an actual subscriber (not a provider) who can tell me there’s a service up and running with a good catch-up service and the usual spread of UK/US/Canada entertainment, news, and sports channels, please let me know.

Thanks.

Android phone vs mi box quality differences?

I'm testing a sub on an Android phone and also on mi box. Using iptv smarters pro on both.

On the phone quality and smoothness are really great. On the TV screen it's mediocre at best. Is it just function of the screen size or is there anything else?

No PayPal at all - Helix

Helix sent me an invoice today for my 1 month sub. I was paying a discounted rate, but they have now told me I have to pay by CC or bitcoin....PayPal no longer an option...plus they increased my rate.

I'm now looking for a backup provider for one connection at a reasonable price that accepts PayPal < $10/mth CDN.

Review of various IPTV DVR software

Over the last few months I’ve tried to set up a wife friendly DVR setup with IPTV and I thought I would share my thoughts on the options I tried. For my purposes I wanted everything to run on my low powered NAS and I wanted recordings to be accessible on my Plex server.

NextPvr ( My personal favorite)

Pros:

  • It’s free
  • Very easy setup
  • The version 5 runs on Docker and has been rock solid and is very lightweight
  • The web UI is simple and easy

Cons:

  • Not great for watching shows as they record
  • Android TV client needs work.
  • Doesn’t embed metadata into recording
  • Doesn’t remove commercials

Plex/Xteve (Close 2nd)

Pros:

  • Easy setup (although Xteve is emulating tuner hardware, so it’s not seamless)
  • Can use Plex guide data (or XMLTV) which adds all your metadata nicely
  • Can remove commercials
  • Watch live TV or shows while the record
  • Nice having all the UI in one place (Plex)

Cons:

  • Plex pass isn’t free.
  • You need to run and maintain 2 apps instead of 1.
  • I experienced freezing and just general performance issues, which I would attribute this to my low powered NAS. This is the only reason I moved away from this setup.

TV Mosaic

Pros:

  • Good interface
  • Removes commercials
  • Very easy setup
  • Reliable once everything was setup and working
  • Decent Android TV app

Cons:

  • Expensive
  • Software is buggy... too buggy for paid software. (Had to set it up several times because it would bring up the wrong station)
  • Hard to troubleshoot when things don't work (I would just delete my setup and start again)

TvHeadend

Pros:

  • Performed great using Kodi as the interface

Cons:

  • Too much hassle to set up and make changes

If you have an questions I'll do my best to help.
