Looking to switch to HDHOMERUN?!

SO, I've been using TORLA for my IPTV service, however, it doesn't support DVR or Channel Guide. So, I'm looking to switch to HDHOMERUN to use within PLEX.

THe only thing I'm confused about is the channel line-up. Why can I not get an accurate listing? I see that i directs me to a local line-up via an antenna, but what about premium channels, ESPN, HBO...etc? How do I get those on HDHOMRUN?

Tired of the drama with Reboot, I want to create an IPTV alternative.

There is a need in the Kodi community for a professional, paid, IPTV service. I want to create an add-on like Reboot that takes this market seriously.

Reboot is so frustrating for a few reasons:

  • It is being ran by reckless guys (don't get me wrong, Target is funny as fuck but he has pissed of alot of kodi devs)
  • They have recently experience alot of technical issues that require numerous re-configurations which is annoying.
  • Their logos and tv guide are corny

I want to put a team together that can create a quality, cheap IPTV service for kodi. I have a CS degree and I can program, and web develop, but I don't know anything about setting up large scale streaming servers. Is anyone willing to team up and make this happen?

This is my vision:

  • Easy to install for kodi
  • A Clean professional website and logo
  • A simplistic styled tvguide (like Renegades, M-TV, etc..)
  • An easy to use website for paying for the service
  • 90% uptime
  • Same price/channels as Reboot
  • LTS
  • Strong customer service
  • Maybe an incentive for resellers?

Thanks for hearing me out. If you are not interested I ask that you do not reply. Thank you.

Drama at Reboot - crazy ride!

For those of you who aren’t subscribers of Reboot (paid IPTV Service) it’s CRAZY over the right now. I just subscribed about 2 weeks ago and was amazed at the quality and selection for about $15/ month. Last Thursday the service stopped working so I went on their private Facebook group to see what was up. Here is a basic listing of events.

From the Reboot team:

  1. We are under a DDOS attack, please hang tight.

  2. 3-4 days with no service and promises of being up very soon

  3. 2-3 more days of no service with promises of being up very soon.

  4. Posted – “we are back, go to this repo and load the new version, this is a great repo and will solve most future problems”

  5. Posted – “DON’T use the Repo we previously posted – you’ll be hacked” (or something similar)

  6. We will be back with a new repo soon, sit tight

  7. Somehow, some way someone started posting links of a new Repo or Addon and told everyone to use this new repo to load a new version. For context there are like 1-6 different admins on Reboot and it’s tough to tell who are Admins and who are just users.

  8. Posted “Don’t follow the links that someone posted, they are not admins, just scammers out to mess with us” So since there are many admins and it’s impossible to tell if someone is an admin or just a FB follower and posted links it became comical.

  9. Posted – We now have a new Repo (Mayfair?). Don’t use the repo we told you about 3-5 days ago, it’s garbage and won’t work. (WTH??). Use this new one, it's GREAT! yea right.

  10. The new repo seems to work for some and not for others.

Since I am only in for $15 it’s great entertainment to see this unfold. They really must have pissed off someone who is doing a rather nice job of messing with Reboot at every turn. The video’s that Omar posts on FB are funny since he always claims it’s no biggie and when they return they will be better than ever but then they get hacked again.

I wonder if this is a sign of things to come for other paid IPTV services. Either way it’s been real. I am bailing and will not renew. Who knows maybe they will get it sorted out and be back better than ever.

[Test] TronicsCity on Kodi

Ok, been trying out for the past few hours TronicsCity Weekend Pass. So far so good. Tried to watch a few games of CL and no stutter at all.

Tho.. I can't find a single HD channel... Super sucks! most I got was a couple of "girls channels" in 540p. Nothing higher. Everything else is in 480p.

Some channels are not FullScreen.. picture only shows in like 80% or 80% of the screen.

Tried it first on Kodi running on a mac over wifi. Smooth. Message over Facebook and email to change the MAC to another box (lubuntu) running Kodi. Answer in a few minutes. Smooth. No stutters!

Overal, for the price.. is a good deal! at least no stutters. Only hoping to get some proper HD channels :(

USAIPTV.NET

I hesitated to post it since they didn't have any kind of referral link (I'm a greedy bastard) but just wanted to throw a personal rec out to USAIPTV.NET. I've been using them for the past week or so and the service has been great. They offer a ton of channels and on demand material as well. Lots of sports (MLB, NFL, NHL, NBA, Premiere league) plus all the movie channels. Channel list is here (http://usaiptv.net/list.php) and they are at about $10 a month for a monthly subscription, less for longer terms. Again, I get nothing from this (unfortunately) but if you're looking, it might be the right service for you. Hadn't seen them mentioned here. I believe they are a reseller of SmashTV.

Looking for a specific type of IPTV provider (details inside)

Hi,

I'm looking for an IPTV provider that offers:

Must have:

  • Ability to stream on multiple devices at once (I'm rarely going to use/need this, but it might happen maybe 10 times a year)
  • BBC1, BBC2, ITV, Channel 4, Sky Sports, BT Sports, Sky F1, Racing UK, AtTheRaces, HBO, Syfy UK, Syfy US, TNT, The CW, ABC, USA Network, Space, FOX, NBC, CBS

Would like

  • Ability to make custom playlists, ie: to remove the channels that I don't care about.
  • Yearly or longer subscriptions (5 year, lifetime... etc)
  • Have a tailored subscription of specific channels for a different price and a different subscription length.

Obviously I don't want to be paying stupid money for one, I'd just like slightly more reliable streams than the free ones I am currently using.

All around provider

Hey guys. Currently a user of IPTVsubs and sportsaccess. I have PC and Firestick (will be getting the new MiBox soon).

I like IPTVsubs for the channel list. Viceland, HGTV, Food Network, CNN, etc. Cons, some channels stutter ever so often, no audio sometimes, or channel needs to be reloaded. General TV is HD and they have a lot of news networks and everyday channels. Kodi app is fairly well, guide stopped working with update though.

I use SportsAccess for NFL/NHL/MLB games, i love the service and IPTVsubs isn't so great on this. Streams work well, HD for all sports, and teams i enjoy. Cons, Kodi app blows, games stutter on it. Use web base for them. No everyday channels. They seem to say they are all coming soon, but when?

smoothstreams gave me a 24hr trial. I liked the guide a lot, quality was good. Only problem was they just dont have the "other channels" i need.

So for now, I am stuck using two providers at roughly 65$ every 3 months. Not too bad. What would be a good provider I could use to match these, and possibly use on more than one device? Need family channels, every day channels, and NFL/MLB/NHL HJD prefered. I have fiber, my connection isnt an issue. Going to try out Rapid IPTV for 24 hours and see how they do for now.

Is there a windows STB Emulator that works well with the 2000 channel TronicsCity Subscription?

I have never tried IPTV before, and I really want to try out the Tronics City 2000 channel subscription and I want to use it on my Windows PC. Is this easy to do? What STB Emulator should I use? Are they free or paid?

Also, What do I put in the MAC address field when signing up? I know what a MAC is and can get the MAC from my NIC, but is that what the service wants? Do I make one up and put it in the emulator? does the emulator supply it to me?

Also is there a way to switch to one of the other plans in the middle of the month if I can't get the 2000 channel plan to work? Or can I get a 1 day trial of the 2000 channel plan to see if it will work and then I can subscribe?

Xiaomi Mi Box

Who's looking at migrating to this unit as an HTPC/AndroidTV box?

Looks promising, and won't need to side load to a fire stick, or use a Windows PC. Currently using FireStick in the bedroom and an HP Slim Desktop in the living room.

We should be able to install the Sony Android TV app for Amazon Prime Video; which helps.

Any thoughts from anyone else ?

First post on the sub clearly. Cord cutter for about 5 years now.

Who wants to work on a comparison

Hi All,

Alot of providers here seem to jump on every topic and suggest they are great, it would be good to have a comparison thread that compares, maybe a Excel doc hosted on Google which we update.

I wanted to know who would be interested in this but also willing to contribute, I was thinking we could have Package Lists, HD, Bit Rate, Maybe Price and Peer or Own content.

We can work on the contents and layout but I think it would be useful for users, servers may not like the idea but it gives choice.

Also I would want the mods to check the idea just to make sure we dont break any rules

Shout to Tecfront.ca

Contacted them to subscribe to ipguys. Gary was very helpful to help me figure out config problems and get it working. Now running on kodi without a glitch. Thanks for great help and service.

in reply to questions, epg comes with the service and is theoretically downloaded with the channel info. I say theoretically because the epg worked for the first week and then stopped working, stalker now says everytime that epg download failed.

To get it to work in kodi you need to get a mac address, got mine from stp pro, just copied to stalker.

Been using it for the last 2 weeks and quality is almost flawless, apart from the epg problem of course.
