I have amended this post to try to help others currently searching, and draw together a list of current options (plus any feedback I have with user experience or contact). The post originally arose because I had a look online & through other peoples posts on reddit for recommendations and nothing jumped out as the 'best' or 'must have' service, some were dated / dead and others receive mixed reviews. Thanks for any help and maybe this post will help others who are looking to move to IPTV over the holiday period.
I'm relatively new to this, coming from mainly using Kodi, and now have a MAG256. I had also originally been looking for an annual subscription, as I believed this would be the best value, but given the feedback and advice in this thread, it's recommended that people start with a trial, then quarterly subscriptions.
I'm happy to pay a premium price for a premium service, if one exists. My main aim was to get something that covers UK / US Entertainment, Movies and a good selection of VOD / Box sets too.
So far I've looked at the recommended list for 2017 https://www.iptvinsider.com/reliable-iptv-service-providers/
and subsequently contacted a few providers. I've amended the original list that I had posted, and have put it into a few categories to make it easier for others to read / reference.
Believed to be active recommended in this thread / or through PM
Some early Feedback on any experience / trial note some of this may be unique to me / my user settings
Auto IPTV / Soft IPTV https://www.softiptv.com/
These guys were the first to get back to me out of the early ones I contacted when searching google. They arranged a free trial. There was a bit of buffering (may have been on my end) and there seemed to be no way of telling what programme was showing / about to show. No real VOD choice of note.
Flawless https://flawless-hosting.co.uk/cart.php These guys have been the quickest to get back to me. After purchasing the £2 48 hour trial, i raised a ticket to get my MAC address white listed and they responded within a few minutes and the service is up and running. The menu is easy to work through, HD looks good quality and no buffering as of the small sample I've looked at. Their VOD section looks decent too, although all lumped into one category to navigate but that's a small price to pay.
IPRocket / Vader https://my.iprocket.net As mentioned, they recommended Vader for the MAG256. They have just replied to my ticket as I couldn't find the trial section easily on the website. If they had replied a bit sooner then I would be on to using their trial instead of the above Flawless one, their response also wasn't very clear, they just stated "it's there under store there will be a section call server trials". Conversely, in order to navigate to the Trial section, I had to click the following. Services > View available Addons > Server Support - Trials (cost is $3).
Magic IPTV - Responded a day later, their site currently only allows payment in Bitcoin, they will be working on this in the next couple of days to accept Paypal.
Could not progress with / dated / closed to new subscribers note some of this may be unique to me
ACE IPTV - Replied to tell me no longer accepting customers. May be available from resellers
Ruya - Contacted on reddit & twitter, no response.
Not entirely surprised, I just wonder how much more intense the authorities will get in 2018. Looks like you can still purchase from resellers, which is a tactic I've seen another IPTV provider take recently.
I was kinda surprised to see one of their mods telling everyone to vote for ACE in the 'IPTV Reviews' Facebook group the other day (although I can tell she doesn't have the most brains from her English + restart your router twice a week/once a week bizarre advice)
From their Facebook page:
Hello A C E Subscribers:
It saddens me to announce this, but due to pressure from the authorities in the UK we are no longer selling new subscriptions. This obviously includes trials.
- WE ARE LEAVING THE SHOP OPEN FOR 24 HOURS FROM THE POINT OF THIS POST. IF YOU WANT TO PURCHASE, PLEASE DO SO BEFORE IT CLOSES IN 24 HOURS (8AM UK TIME TUESDAY)- We are trying to be as fair as possible *
I would like to emphasize: * ACE IS NOT SHUTTING DOWN * and anyone whom currently has service with us, will still be served with the same great ACE support through tickets. Existing customers can renew their subscriptions.
We will be closing down the Facebook page in a couple of days however. Support will again, continue to be provided through tickets (https://ace-tv.co.uk/submitticket.php).
Again, we are not closing down, and existing customers will still be served and maintained by us. ALL support however, will be through tickets.
Thank you all for your support; and even more for your understanding on why we no longer are accepting "new" customers.
Someone knows or uses this iptv service iptv? https://m.facebook.com/BiloIPTV/?ref=page_internal&mt_nav=1
I started by getting a Voodoo subscription with a local reseller for 8 months on my MAG 254. He cut me short one month so I felt like I couldn't trust this guy and went searching online for another reseller who happens to conveniently cheaper as well.
I start off small with 3 months but then they tell me that my MAC address is locked. The problem is that my previous reseller says that my mac address should be automatically removed from the panel when the subscription ends which was a few days ago.
From what I understand from these threads: thread 1, and 2, is that I am essentially screwed unless I can somehow convince my previous reseller to release my mac from his panel.
I don't know who is telling the truth, and now my old reseller is asking how much my new seller is offering. Is there seriously nothing I can do other than settling on another subscription or getting another box?
