Does Nvidia shield have a nice epg menu like formuler for IPTV?

VLC Player is phenomenal for IPTV, except for the lack of EPG support(!)

I am running an HTPC with Windows 10 and want to set up IPTV the best way I can. After having a clunky experience with Kodi and Perfect Player, I gave VLC a shot with low expectations. It is BUTTER smooth and extremely easy to personalize your channel list by using the playlist editor. The random play mode makes it awesome for channel surfing and stumbling on random programs.

This is exactly what I am looking for, except there obviously is no program info or channel guide. Is there a way I can integrate the EPG somehow?

I love the Iks Dreamlink box, is that a good way to go IPTV wise? I would like top of the line for HD and future proofing for 4k and also a really nice menu.

Just looking for your most recommend IPTV box out there. I really care most about the epg menu software to look as good as a direct tv or dish network box. Also the HD image quality. I can't complain about the Dreamlink HDs epg menu, I actually really love it. That's what I'm looking for in my purchase for an IPTV box, a really sleek looking epg menu and UI. Thanks guys, great subreddit.

No sound on some channels, with a Samsung tv

Samsung smart TV using Smart IPTV app.

No sound on a lot of channels. Multiple providers have had this happen. Vader worked but it was the cost that made provider change this time.

The same provider log in info works perfectly on a LG smart TV using the Smart IPTV app. And on Perfect Player for Android.

Any ideas on what will cause this? Is there some kind of cachet that I should clear on a Samsung Smart TV? It's about the only thing I can think of. Thanks in advance

Problem with Formuler z7+?

I was having a lot of buffering hardwired connected to LAN, I thought it might have been my VPN but with VPN off or on I was only able to get around 20Mbps with +/- 5Mbps. Currently I am able to stream without buffering now using the wifi adapter that was included. But again, with or without VPN I am only seeing about 50Mbps, what's up? I know my desktop is able to get 1/4 of my full bandwidth speed of 400Mbps. Obviously I don't expect that much but I thought I would see atleast as much hardwired as I am currently seeing with the wifi adapter.

Looking for a player that I can customize my EPG to be as close to what I’m used to with my cable provider.

Basically like Cox, DirecTV etc. I know the internal one with Eternal TV (Immortal) kinda does this, but I don’t like it.

I want more control.

4K IPTV?!?!?

What do you say to providers/resellers that offer 4K and swear by it? I have a couple guys in my message box that say their provider offers 4K live tv and 4K VOD.

Question for users of the Vader app on Android

When playing a catch-up program, how the heck does one pause... or skip back or forward for that matter?

Sounds simple enough, and I'm sure I was able to do it after first installing the apk on Android TV and logging in earlier this week, but now it seems like too much to ask! I was sure I could skip forward at least by hitting the right side of the D-pad on my remote, but nope... neither does the dedicated skip (or fast forward) button do it, and neither does pause.

Am I missing something simple... like it's not meant to work and I'm imagining that it actually did at one point?

M3U channel not playing

Hi everyone,

I copied the channel link from a free streaming service (in android) into my XBOX app to play the channel in the form of "http://ipaddress:port/playlist.m3u8/xyz/channelwebAutho?stringetc."

The problem is that it plays only once, and if i try to play it again it gives me error. What could be the issue? Authentication Token maybe?

New to IPTV and looking for some answers!

Hi everyone, Long time reader, but decided to post so I could get some help. I'm fed up with the cable companies and starting to look into IPTV as a few of my colleagues have mentioned great things. It's hard to find out where to get more info, but thought I could ask some questions here.

  1. Theres so many services out there and seems like it's hard to stay one is better than the other. What I'm looking for is possibly service for 3 tvs. I currently have an Nvidia Shield to try a service out on, but would consider purchasing a dedicated box or other android boxes for the other two tv's once I find the right service. Are there services that work better on certain devices as opposed to not?
  2. What boxes or devices are better ones to look into? What makes them better? I keep reading about Dreamlink T1 and T2... but some complaints as well due to lack of RAM etc? I don't mind dishing out a little more cash if the box will work as smooth as possible.
  3. My parents and wife will also be using it, so I want to make it as easy as possible for them. I've been reading mentions of EPG. Is that episode guide? If so, does this already come with IPTV subscriptions? Or is this something that is separate and is added on after? What would you say are some of the better EPG (EPG's?) to check out?
  4. Is there any free trials that I could check out that work with the Nvidia Shield Android device? Im also willing to pay a bit to try out temporarily.
  5. Which internet service provider is better to go with with IPTV usage? I'm based in Canada. Bell? Rogers? Reason I ask is, when it comes to using a service, if one gets flagged, certain internet companies might not really dive into whats going on vs others. Which leads me to the next question...
  6. Do you really need a VPN? Wouldnt a VPN slow down the speed of the channels or degrade quality? Don't VPN's have limited bandwidths? If not... what would be a good monthly VPN, IPTV subscription to go with ... and with Rogers or Bell is better?

Apologies for tons of questions, but hope I can get some help out!!

Thanks in advance for taking the time to read!
