EDIT 2 Looks like everything is back to normal. Thanks friends.
So I know recently Vaders has been less than stellar with their stability, but everything seems to be up and running now and I still can't get my PVR to go back to normal. I run latest Kodi with Vaders and IPTV Simple Client.
Before the recent issues, my EPG would only have the categories I wanted [CA,US,UK,Sports]. It didn't load 1400 channels then filter them, it loaded 400 channels total. I could select the categories in Vaders settings, and the m3u link in IPTV Simple Client would update with a new "&filterCategory=" parameter to filter out all the ones I didn't want.
Now that parameter is gone from the m3u link, whenever I update my categories, it only changes my channel groups in the PVR client. Did something change or is it just me?
EDIT
I have a workaround right now to get the PVR to only load the channel groups you want.
- Login to http://watch.vaders.tv and edit your settings to select the shows you want.
- In the Vaders add-on in Kodi, disable the PVR integration.
- In IPTV Simple Client, change your M3U URL to: http://vaders.tv:80/get.php?username=USERNAME&password=PASSWORD&type=m3u&output=m3u8
- Reboot.
Edit: wow apparently this was a bad idea. So many PMs. Why is this sub filled with shills and spammers? Where are the mods?
I've just learned about IPTV in the past few days, and I'm really excited about it. I don't feel informed enough to do anything yet though; it seems like there are a lot of vendors and a lot of people saying that one is bad and another is good and there are a lot of contradictions.
I'm also wondering about how, exactly, I want to go about watching. I already have a Plex server, and I found this guide, which looks really good.
My main concern right now is finding a provider that's going to be reliable (I'm not concerned about quality as much; DVD quality is fine) and will let me watch multiple channels at the same time. There are a few people in the house, and I'm not sure how streams are limited by providers.
Any guidance you can offer to a newcomer is greatly appreciated! :)
