Semi new to IPTV with questions about providers

I've been trying a few IPTV providers over the last year on 1 month trials and have yet to find one that satisfies me. They seem to either have bad or no EPG data, limit you to 1 stream, lag often, or have channels down all the time. Can anyone suggest a provider that would suit me?

Looking for:

  • Kodi simple PVR support (with 4 kodi boxes in the house it's the easiest)
  • Good EPG, doesn't need to be perfect in knowing what's on but at least semi-reliable.
  • Allows 2 streams at once, very common for me to watch one thing and the kids or wife to watch a second.
  • Doesn't require bitcoin for payment
  • semi-reliable on streams, I don't care 720p or not I just want when I select a channel I get the show without stuttering and with audio :)
  • Plenty of US (and preferably Canadian) support for channels.

UK Catch up on Plex

Are there any providers that offer UK Catch Up via a Plex plugin? The smoothstreams plugin is great for live stuff, but doesn't really work as a US based F1 fan.

IPTV M3U Premium Playlists

Hi all, not sure if this is a dumb question or not (I'm slightly new to this). I've been building my video add-on and was wondering if there is a service that I can pay for that gives me reliable m3u playlists for the links to videos/sport that I want to show on my add-on. I want to pay for that so I can offer my service for free to others with reliable and good streams.

Odd behaviour in plex addon?

Hi,

I'm using a plex addon for smoothstreams ( works with a few services apparently) ? After 10 minutes or so, the addon switches to the next channel. On my samsung smart tv, the addon actually works perfect, but for some reason on the PS4 this behaviour persists. Also, on the ps4 it shows incorrect info beneath each channel, whereas the samsung plex works fine.

Any ideas?

Quick comparison: iptvsubs vs ipguys vs voodoo

I'm new to iptv and got myself a mag 254W2. I'm interested in Canadian, US and Arabic channels. Here is my review after 4 days of use of ipstvsubs, ipguys and voodoo:

iptvsubs:
-Great resolution.
-Stable so far, but they keep havving issues with their website, forums, etc.
-Most Canadian and US channels are available, with logos. Sports channels like TSN, Sportsnet, ESPN etc are working. Most Bein Arabic sports are not available
-Most arabic channels are available but many stutter. Not buffering, just skipping and stuttering.
-Expensive

ipguys:
-Lower resolution. Most channels display with black bars on side or top and bottom. You can change the fit using the most lower left button on the remote, but have to do that after every channel change. Or you can change the picture size on the TV to stretch, or what have you, but still looks funny and it stretches the EPG as well.
-Very stable and channels appear right away
-Most Canadian and US channels are available including sports. No logos. My most watched channel CTV Toronto is jumbled up for some reason. Been like this for 4 days
-Less arabic channels but very stable
-Good price

Voodoo:
Without going into details, it's just a mess for my needs. Has the most channels but many duplicates. Many don't work. CTV Toronto shows the words "no signal". My least favourite for sure.

I will keep testing them for the month and decide on which one to keep. It's between iptvsubs and ipguys, but leaning more towards iptvsubs.
Any other services worth trying that gives me good resolution stable service for Cdn, US and arabic channels?

A provider who I can record from - does it excist?

So after a couple of months of reading etc.. This coming week I'll be taking the plunge and trying out my first IPTV service. I've been waiting on a internet upgrade to fibre to make the most of it and before deciding who to first try out.

I'm a UK guy so looking for a full UK Sky package with the usual 3pm football, VOD, catchup etc... But the sticking point was the abilty to record. I can't seem to find a service that has a proper setup to allow this.

I was thinking of trying out Flawless, first. But they lack the recording side of things.. All help is really appreciated!!

MAG 254 vs STB EMU

I'm currently testing iptvsubs, ipguys and voodoo on my MAG254W2 box. They work fine. I wanted to test the services on STB emu as well. So, I copied the mac address from the MAG to the stb emu, entered the corresponding portal and chose the stb model. I disconnected the MAG box to avoid any conflict. But when I restart the stb emu, I get "your stb is blocked". This happens with all 3 services above, and using android phone and nvidia sheild.

I have used stb emu before with a 1 day trial of iptvsubs and I know it worked.

Should I be able to do this, or does the service provider know I switched boxes?

Video Settings on a mag 254...

Hi guys,

Anyone know of the best video settings to use on Mag 254 Box (assuming we all have HD TV's)?

Currently on a trial with ntv.mx, but many channels will show as 4:3 instead of 16:9 unless I manually adjust it using the remote. Original setting on video was "PAL" but as I'm in the US I changed to NTSC 1080p - 60fps... Not sure if it's actually made any difference though. Now instead of movies being full widescreen there are in letterbox style (no matter how I adjust the screen FIT/STRETCH/etc).

Wondered if there was a de-facto standard everyone sets it to or not.

Cheers

IPTV in the UK

Hi All,

Apologies if this question has been asked a million times. I did search but there was nothing i could find that was up-to-date enough.

I want to try IPTV in the UK as an alternative to SKY. I've cancelled my Sky sub a while ago but living on iPlayer/Amazon/Netflix isnt enough.

I've got 1 questions:

  1. Is IPTV legal in the UK?
  2. If yes, does anyone have an opinion on the best legal supplier?

Thank you very much for your help! :)

Need a IPTV service with that has US versions of TruTV, ESPN, and GSN

I've had some decent IPTV services, but none of them had all three of the channels I want. Before you judge my viewing choices, please note that I am a 42YO stoner. I just need an service that has the primary US broadcast of TruTV, ESPN, and GSN and good reliability. I don't care about HD, broadcast format, or aspect ratio. I just want to be able to turn on my MAG box and relax for 30 min or so after work. These three channels and good reliability are the only criteria that I have.

If your server, or a server you sell, fits the bill and offers service for MAG boxes, please let me know. If they don't have all three stations, I'm really not interested.

UPDATE 2/5/17: I found three services that offered the 3 channels that I wanted and subscribed to all three. They all had a good and wide selection of US and UK channels including on-demand and major PPVs. The streams were all solid, so I'll only expand the information if they offered something different. Here they are:

  1. Invoke - www.vcarib.co - $5/month
  2. IP Technology - $12.65 C/month https://store7388099.ecwid.com/#!/Subscriptions/c/14120198/offset=0&sort=normal
  3. MediaHub - Find on Facebook - $10, $42, & $74 for 1, 6, and 12 month subs. I requested a MAG authorization when I subscribed, but they didn't activate it right away. I already had 2 portals on my MAG, so I didn't make a fuss about it. They sent me a confirmation email with a link to the streams on VLC (they also have a web player on their site) and it was brilliant. I assume the MAG and Kodi build have EPG. VLC didn't have it for the PC, and I didn't bother to ask about it. Their on demand has 500+ new movies/popular recent movies. They also have the IMDB top 250, every episode of Game of Thrones, Big Bang Theory, Family Guy, The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead, and Only Fools and Horses. I use bit torrent and have quite a collection, so On-Demand isn't a big draw for me. If it were, this would be the hands-down winner.
