I have two IPTV providers including one test URL and a paid URL. Both provide great quality channels but the EPGs aren't great. I tested out m3u4u.com and produced a much improved EPG.
Here's my question: my URLS have my user/pass credentials embedded in the M3U link (and throughout the xml). Should I be concerned uploading the url to the site? I have 2 concerns (1) the obvious threat of someone gaining access to my credentials, and (2) the possibility that my provider will lock me out thinking I'm trying to share the service as m3u4u downloads the xml from the provider after I provide the url.
I tested using my test account that was set to expire today - so no harm done. But I'm worried to create an epg using my paid service.
Is there a better (and still free) way to go about this? Am I worrying needlessly and should I use m3u4u? Any thoughts or help appreciated.
When I turn on my box, I get a login and password screen which I don't have either. Is the box itself or the server of the provider? Anyone else ever have this issue? I don't have access to the reseller anymore so I don't have anyway to be sure. All I know is one of the portals has a url of "patel7.net" and the ntp server is "pool.ntp.org"
Any help would be greatly appreciated
