Hi Streamers,
Similar to last week, we are raising a request for testers willing to use and therefore test a streaming application we are developing.
Platforms available are Android and Windows (We have removed the Linux version from this week's testing due to dependency issues users were encountering last week). If you are interested, please reply to this thread and indicate which version you want to test.
Bugs squashed and Improvements from last week:
- [BUG] Server Component improvements - We were experiencing two distinct crashes on our server component, one of them is resolved; we are still investigating the second one.
- [BUG] The 'soft' back button on the player screen was not working. This is now fixed (Thanks u/MrEmeralddragon)
- [IMPROVEMENT] Volume modifications are now saved
- [IMPROVEMENT] Channels are now sorted Alphabetically (Thanks u/MrEmeralddragon)
- [IMPROVEMENT] Streamlined component between all deployments
- [IMPROVEMENT] Some code cleanup
Thanks!
Update: 27 January
Hi Folks,
Once again, we would like to thank everyone who participated in this round of testing. We will start looking at bug reports and improvements on Wednesday - Trial ends tomorrow :).
Apart from fixing bugs, we have decided to completely change the UI and make the application look and behave like a set-top-box application. We will also give users the ability to change various application settings such as video output format (Stretched, Preserve aspect ratio, etc.), decoding preferences (hardware vs software) and others. Once all of this gets done, we will then implement in-built EPG, recording and catchup functionality!
Obviously, this will take some time to implement so sit tight!
Thanks!
Update: 1 February
Ahoy streamers,
We hope everyone is doing great!
As we mentioned in our last update, there won't be any testing going on this weekend however, we wanted all interested users to know how their (yet-to-be favourite) IPTV application is progressing.
This week we started working on the "Live TV" screen. As usual, we had mixed opinions on how to best layout things but we did eventually settled on the below default theme.
As most of you may realise, the layout is inspired by real Set-Top-Boxes (STBs). Choosing such layout will hopefully make new users feel at home when first trying our application.

Let us know what y'all think :)
